Hi Chic Readers ,

This year is flying by, can you believe it’s already September and the first day of Fall is officially just a few days away? Crazy!

I’m SO excited as I love Fall (pumpkins! Halloween! candles! decorating! more pumpkins! LOL), like a LOT, however I don’t love cold weather. We’re already seeing signs of things cooling down in Northern California for our mornings and evenings :(. It’s all good since that just means it’s getting to be time for boots & sweaters #fallfashionyes

Sharing one of my favorite dresses from this Spring/Summer by ‘Who What Wear’ for Target. ‘Who What Wear’ is my favorite clothing brand at Target and has been for a while now.

This dress is super cute, insanely comfortable, versatile (you can wear it back to front in addition to the normal front to back…trust me I know, once put it on backwards by accident due to an early morning and now wear it back to front quite often!) and also comes in yellow for anyone who isn’t into prints/florals…

Also, once again highlighting my favorite sandals from this Spring/Summer which can also be found at Target. I just ordered them in black since I’ve been living in my tan ones for the past few months ;).

Hope you’re soaking up the last few days of Summer and wishing you all a wonderful week ahead :)!

xoxo “Got to soak up the sun for as long as possible before it starts getting dark at 4pm!”

Mirror Lake

Dress: Forever 21

Sunglasses: Quay (similar here & here)

Sneakers: Nike (similar here)

Hi Chic Readers, what’s up?! Happy Friday to you!!!

We recently went to Yosemite as K won the “lottery” to hike Half Dome! It was a gnarly experience (watch this quick video for context if curious) that I only got to vicariously live through via my brother-in-law’s Go Pro video footage…and let me tell you, I was pretty ok with not having hiked it!

I considered hiking Half Dome, but it’s not on my “to-do” list, or bucket list, and instead opted to do some less strenuous nice hikes to beautiful waterfalls! Oh and on one of our days there my MIL and I did a waterfall hike in Yosemite Valley to Vernal Falls Footbridge, then had lunch at Tenaya Lodge and treated ourselves to facials/massages (while the boys were hiking Half Dome) #priorities 😉

Yosemite is such a GORGEOUS place!!! Like insanely stunning. If you have never gone, no matter where in the world you live, and you like nature, hiking and beautiful scenes then it’s not to be missed! Fun fact: over 4 million people visit Yosemite each year. Crazy right?!

Pro tip: Visit Yosemite in May or June, if possible, for peak snow run-off (AKA the waterfalls will be at their very best!)

Apparently I had visited Yosemite when I was 8 years old with my family, but don’t remember any of it so I was very happy to experience it in my adult life as it did not disappoint!

People who go to Yosemite seem to like to be very equipped with: hiking poles, big boots, backpacks, hats/visors, fanny packs, outdoorsy outfits etc. and while that’s great if you’re actually doing hard/challenging hikes where all of that equipment is necessary, I think a lot of people do it for the looks factor!

Makes sense as people always like to look like they’re legit and that they know what they’re doing, and you know what I don’t blame them as one of my life motto’s is ‘you do you’! To each their own right?! As long as it doesn’t hurt others :).

I wore this pretty pink floral dress that is under $25 (by the way) on a casual hike to Mirror Lake and it was a pretty funny experience as I got ALL the stares/looks

You can imagine random stranger’s reactions when they passed by our group on the trail and saw almost everyone in our group all outfitted in normal hiking/athletic clothes and then saw me…in this pink floral summer dress (insert crying laughing emoji here)! But hey, one thing I’ve learned is that you have to ‘do you’ and not care about what others think of you!

Two of my favorite quotes are:

“Why fit in when you were born to stand out” – Dr. Seuss

“People will stare. Make it worth their while” – Harry Winston

Also, if you’re not doing a crazy strenuous, 10+ mile, hike and instead are doing an easy to moderate hike or casual walk in a National Park, a dress is actually a very comfy  hiking outfit! Don’t believe me?

Most spring/summer dresses are: airy (big plus when it’s hot out!), lightweight and can absorb sweat easily…I would recommend hiking in a dress to anyone who’s interested! Try it one day…you may be pleasantly surprised ;)!

Oh and I did wear my reliable, comfy, Nike sneakers with this dress on the hike as I’m not totally crazy…haha! I did see one woman on the trail to Mirror Lake in sandals and thought “What are you doing?! Your feet are going to hurt!” as it’s still a hike, even if moderate to easy level.

xo “Inspired to see ALL the National Parks now!” Sera 😉

Shining, Shimmering Sandals

Sandals & Pants (not available online): Target

Hi Chic Friends & Readers! Long time no talk, not sure how this is my first post of 2018 😱…things have been very busy! I actually wanted to post several times already this year, but WordPress wasn’t letting me create a new post for some reason (booo WordPress).

I’ve decided to give it a go on my phone today and, hallelujah, it works here at least :)!

Can we talk about these cutie slides?! The weather has been warming up and I’ve been loving, and living in these, glitzy sandals!! They’re from Target and I really love them!

Do you like compliments? If so order these ASAP as I get compliments whenever I wear them…not kidding!

They come in black too, which I may have to order seeing how often I’m wearing the the taupe ones ;). They run a 1/2 size small so I recommend going 1/2 a size larger than your normal shoe size if you’re ordering online. I always wear a size 8 in shoes and got an 8.5 in these and they fit perfectly.

Hope you’re all doing wonderfully and having a fabulous week so far!

I’m off to Yosemite tomorrow and will be sure to give you all an update about that trip soon :)!

xo “Shining, Shimmering Splendid…Tell me, princess, now when did you last let your heart decide?” Sera 🙂

p.s. recognize those lyrics?! It inspired this post’s title ;)!!

Hi Chic Readers! Happy last day of 2017…can you believe tonight is New Year’s Eve?!

K and I having a dinner date tonight! We’re trying a new sushi place by our house so I’m hoping it’s good (fingers crossed, it has great Yelp reviews!). Afterwards we’ll be heading to a friend’s party for champagne, treats, time w/our friends and ringing in 2018!

It’s actually a pajama NYE party, which I’m super into! What’s better than being super comfy and cozy to welcome 2018???

In past years we’ve gone to clubs and out to parties in various cities (San Francisco, Las Vegas, San Diego), but I’ve always been more of a homebody for NYE…I prefer to either be at my own house or a good friend’s/family’s house and have a fun yet mellow night, always with champagne aplenty ;). That’s my ideal NYE!

Today I’m sharing my favorite new-ish dress with you. I ordered this pretty black and gold metallic star & moon dress for this holiday season and absolutely love it. Some glitz and glam is always chic!

I wore it with black tights to my work holiday party a few weeks ago and it was a big hit! My favorite detail, other than the print (obviously!), is the sheer long sleeves.

That one detail makes it great for work functions as it’s appropriate (I’m not one to show ‘all you’ve got’ at work parties), but it’s also great for any other parties/events you may have as well!

If you want to show some skin you can wear without tights. I chose to wear with tights to the party as it was a cold night and I didn’t want to deal with cold legs all night, but the next time I wear this dress it’ll be sans tights ;).

And to end my last post of 2017 here are some thoughts…

Things we need more of in 2018:

*ACCEPTANCE of all humans (regardless of race, religion, sexual orientation)

*Acts of kindness (random & not so random)

*PROTECTING & RESPECTING Mother Nature and this beautiful Earth we’re so lucky to call “home”

Things we can kick to the curb in 2018 (and should have been long gone already IMO…):

-Real fur

-Hate crimes

-Senseless acts of violence

-Jean shorts that are so short one’s butt cheeks show/hang out (literally my least favorite thing to ever become a trend)

-Interruptions when talking

Thank you for following along!! Wishing each of you a very happy, healthy, adventure-filled, fun & prosperous 2018 filled with lots of love and laughs!!! Cheers to you and cheers to light and love in the New Year!

xoxo “Here’s to 2018!” Sera 🙂

Baby It’s Cold Outside

Dress: Ted Baker (love ALL of his dresses, lots of pretty options here!)

Earrings, Necklace: J.Crew (old)

Eyelashes: One Two Cosmetics (wearing the ‘Full Coverage Enhanced Lash’ here)

Lips: Chanel

Tights: Target

Faux Fur, Heels: Zara (old, but love these)

Hi, hello, hey hey hey!!! Per the title of this post, it was cold out so I wore tights under my dress and took off my cardigan just for the 1 minute K snapped these photos…then quickly put it right back on :).

Hope you all are having a wonderful holiday season still! Sharing what I wore to Christmas Eve at my in-laws house. What’s more festive than red and/or sparkles on Christmas Eve?!

Went the red route this year :). I added a faux fur scarf accent + black & white striped heels to make for a fun and festive outfit..

I decided to get dressed up and do a little glam, as in actually did my makeup which felt nice! Unless I’m going to a party/event I rarely wear any makeup…the perks of working in the Tech world where I can go into work every day in a workout/athleisure outfit…insert jazz hands emoji here.

With that said though, it’s so nice to get dressed up every once in a while. Still glad I don’t have to do so every day though…I’ve done that before for work and it gets exhausting. Props to anyone who does that day in and day out #workit

So it was kind of funny & oh so cute bc I don’t think K was going to dress up originally, but then he saw my outfit, gave me some sweet compliments about how nice I looked and then wore a very dapper outfit himself! #proudwifey

Back to Christmas Eve, we have some fun traditions on Xmas Eve that I love! We have an appetizer dinner (YES all our fave appetizers on one table…it’s one of my favorite dinners of the entire year!), hang out/chat/laugh, play with my twin nieces and have a really lovely evening with family.

Part of our Xmas Eve tradition used to include watching a Christmas movie, but that’s now quite challenging to do ever since the twinsies came along…this year they were watching animated Christmas movies on TV and last year we were forced to watch an animated Frosty the Snowman, haha!

Switching gears but have you seen that meme that’s floating around on Instagram right now (literally I’ve seen it on so many insta’s, but it’s so good) that says:

“That bit between Christmas and New Year where you don’t know what day it is, who you are or what you’re supposed to be doing…”

^^^^^Well I kind of feel like that in a good way! The days/time seem to blur and go by too quickly yet this holiday season has been relaxing, fun, food-filled and I’ve been able to spend quality time w/family and friends AND not work too much! #victory

I’m going to be soaking up the last few days of 2017, reflecting on this past year and looking forward to ringing in 2018 very soon :)! Are you ready for the New Year?!

xoxo “I LOVE the holidays and won’t be taking down any of our decor until January 1st, 2018!” Sera 🙂

Lips: Stila

Necklaces: Thirty One Bits (sold out, but lots of cute options here)

Bag: YSL (comes in black and pink too!)

Hi Chic Readers! Happy holidays!!! Also, Merry Christmas Eve to all of you who celebrate! I LOVE the holidays and have been listening to holiday tunes (Gwen Stefani’s new Christmas CD is so GOOD!), decorating our house and wrapping presents  for the past few weeks…it’s been so fun and now I’m ready to relax and hang out w/family :).

K’s currently in the midst of making his famous holiday cookies, which are always a big hit, but also a lot of work…I play sous chef for these and it’s fun. I’m also in charge of displaying them nicely and the decor aspect ;).

I’ve been meaning to post this outfit, specifically this dress, here for a while but haven’t had time :(. The good news is that this cutie ruffle sweater dress is currently 50% off and now under $30!!! So if you like it now’s the time to order!

It’s super comfy and warm and I always receive compliments when I wear it! It also comes in black with white trim which is super cute as well, but I liked the burgundy right away and wore it for Thanksgiving this year.

Funnily enough, a blogger I follow on Insta, Emily of ‘The Sweetest Thing’ also wore it for Thanksgiving but in black! #greatminds Emily ;).

Hope you’ve been having a wonderful Holiday season thus far and wishing you a “Merry Everything & A Happy Always!”

Laguna Sunset

Dress: Anthropologie (from earlier this year, love this one too!)

Necklaces: Nadri and Thirty One Bits (I want this one now!)

Sunglasses: Quay

Bag: YSL

Sandals: Steve Madden

Hihihi! Happy December! Can you believe it’s almost time for the Holidays?! They’re quickly approaching and I’m so excited!!!

One of the most beautiful beaches in the world is Laguna Beach (IMO) and fortunately it’s super close to my parent’s house/where I grew up.

If you’re not from Orange County, you probably know about Laguna Beach/have seen it on TV via the reality show “Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County” that Lauren Conrad and Kristin Cavallari were on back in the day (insert crying laughing emoji here). It was ridiculous but kind of fun to watch while we were young and it put Laguna on the map for many.

Anyways when K and I were in Southern California for Thanksgiving we went to Laguna Beach for lunch, to walk around and watch the sun set and it did not disappoint! All of these photos (above) are not edited. #nofilter at all! So gorgeous right?!

It was a 75 degree day outside so I was able to wear this fun sparkly dress and one of my favorite pairs of sandals ever…in late November…oh how I love Southern California in Fall/Winter!

I got several compliments just walking around in this dress so apparently it’s a people pleaser ;). I got it from Anthro a few months ago, but unfortunately doesn’t look like it’s available anymore, or not online at least. What I love about it the most is that it’s quite versatile and can be dressed up or dressed “down” a bit…I mean it’s still a sparkly dress which makes it look inherently a bit more dressy. It’s one of my favorite dresses to date!

As for my sunnies I’m digging these Quay sunnies. They’re so cool! I just love the ombre detail and how oversized they are. They also come in Mint!

xoxo “Shiny, Shimmery and Bright times ahead!” Sera 🙂

Pumpkin Patch Velvet Kimono

Dress: Nordstrom (currently on sale!)

Kimono: Forever 21 (lots of cute ones, I want this one too!)

Necklaces: J.Crew

Sunglasses: Maris DeHart

Hat, Bag: Target

Lips: Stila Liquid Lipstick

Hi all! Happy almost Halloween!!! Can’t believe this is my first Fall post, but definitely not the last ;)!

I LOVE Halloween. Always have, always will. It’s just fun and there are so many tasty & cute treats/drinks to make/eat/drink and the decorations are awesome. I got really into decorating the inside of house this year and don’t want to take our Halloween decorations down, even after Tuesday. Plus, pumpkins and costumes…need I say more?!

Since we’ve had our house we’ve hosted a Halloween party for our friends which is so fun! We just had our 2nd annual Halloween party this past weekend and it was a success (woot!)!!

This year I dressed up as Cruella De Vil and K went as my Henchman…I loved being a ‘villain’ this year! I’ll be sharing some pics soon here. In the meantime if you’re interested in seeing a sneak peek, take a look at my Instagram :).

We also did our annual Campbell family pumpkin patch outing which is one of my favorite fall traditions! Spent lots of time w/the fam, took a few pics (above!), found some cool pumpkins to take home which are now sitting on our porch and my twin nieces got to go on their first pony/horse rides (needless to say they were fans as they’re super into horses currently)!

I wore this super cute, on-trend, velvet kimono paired over my go-to black maxi dress. Added 2 gold J.Crew necklaces, a cute bag and hat from Target and a beautiful pop of color via my Stila liquid lipstick. I felt very Fall festive!

This look is appropriate for October in California as we get some super hot days. This day at the pumpkin patch turned out to be a scorcher...I started sweating in my velvet kimono an hour into our outing as it was 90+ degrees!

Wishing you a fa-boo-lous and spooky fun Halloween!!! Be back on here soon!

xoxo “Happy Halloween Eve everyone!” 🙂

Chinatown Fun!

Dress: Anthropologie

Sunglasses: Maris DeHart

Lips: MAC ‘Russian Red’

Bag: Chanel

Sandals: Nordstrom

Hiiii! Happy Friday Eve :). Wanted to share this pretty dress by Yumi Kim that I got recently at Anthropologie. I’m loving all the dark florals that are always in style, but specifically very trendy/in style this Fall.

I wore it out and about to my first ‘Red Egg & Ginger Party’…go ahead and Google it, or click that link! I had never heard of it before getting invited to this one, but I love the idea and we had a great time celebrating baby Emilia with our friends! I planned to wear this dress as it has red flowers and also accessorized with my burgundy Chanel bag, as red signifies good luck in the Chinese culture.

One of my besties and I randomly came upon this cute staircase in Chinatown, San Francisco, so of course we had to take a few pics ;).

Matcha is one of my favorite things (Matcha iced latte’s anyone?) so it was very appropriate that we stood on that stair.

Flutter-Sleeves & New Anthro Finds

Dress: Anthropologie

Hanger: Etsy

“Look What You Made Me Do” Anthropologie!! Some inspo via T.Swift’s new song and video (I’m so into it!). Got some cute items when I went to one of the largest Anthropologie stores, in America, in Palo Alto last week. If you haven’t been yet and you live in the Bay Area or find yourself in Northern California then it’s a must…trust me you won’t regret going!

Also, tried their cafe, Terrain, for the first time and it was delish!

First item that I’ve already worn, this super cute flutter-sleeve shirt dress which is super comfy and “farm girl” chic & cute according to K, to which I responded, “More like I should be in the lavender fields of Provence twirling and picking flowers!”…but that’s still in France so guess my husband knows some things about my style/fashion ;). I got a size S.

I also picked up this beautiful chenille cardigan in “nude” and I know it’s a piece I’ll be wearing a ton this Fall/Winter. The color is more of a dusty rose than “nude” in person. It also comes in navy and a brown-y-green “moss” color. I got an XS and usually wear a S/M on top so definitely size down at least 1 size if not 2.

My 3rd find was this pretty tray for our entryway console table which we’re using to store our keys.

And my last purchase, which I’m so excited about but I haven’t tried on in my correct size is this amazing tie-back dress. It’s a great black dress, really comfortable and has the cutest, and kind of sexy, back! It’s getting shipped to me right now. As long as it fits I feel like I will be living in it as it’s right up my alley.

Do you ever put something on and know immediately that you love it and will get so much use out of it?! I felt like that for all of the above items which always makes for a productive/fun/the best shopping day :)!

xoxo “Got to stay away from Anthro for a while now…probs not, let’s be real” Sera 🙂 haha
